Fate of Popular Radicals’ Theory, Unearthed

Hearing about free radicals damaging effects sounds weird and sort of worrying as no one wants to become old or infuse him or herself in to the aging process because it turns a person an absolute pantaloons which nobody desires to take that form. But no one can oppose nature’s phenomenon of life cycle which carries a sequential system from birth leading to death due to the wear-tear and strangling of vital cell organisms that compile to form tissues, muscle and plasma giving existence to larger and bigger habitats on planet. As per tradition, we’re painted with the idea from years that aging process starts as a death of a cell occurs or a chemical reaction affects the cells in a false pretext which can be due to various factors. One of the factors that most of the world testifies is the action of free radicals on health, what are these lets see, Radicals are usually termed as oxidants, are unstable and highly reactive atoms that have at least one unpaired electron. The radicals can be produced by naturally occurring reactions with in body or are contracted externally through the inhaling vessels by body like poor environmental air and with certain harmful addictions of Smoking and alcoholism.

So, I guess you still be excited about what title is depicting here, Fate of Radicals’ Theory, Unearthed. Yes you’re definitely not misled or misguided on this besides you’ll be appeased to know that the traditional theory of free radicals or oxidants which claims that constant cell exposure to harmful free radicals over time causes aging has totally flipped around and now the new concept being emphasized by researchers about the free radicals is otherwise. The experts and scientists at McGill University, Canada have found one of the facts that radicals in body rather fight aging process instead of being party in causing it.

The senior team member Siegfried Hekimi searching on subject at department of biology at McGill University says:
People believe that free radicals are damaging and cause aging, but the so-called 'free radical theory of aging' is incorrect. We have turned this theory on its head by proving that free radical production increases during aging because free radicals actually combat - not cause - aging. In fact, in our model organism we can elevate free radical generation and thus induce a substantially longer life.

The study further suggests that radicals involve the cells in a certain reaction that triggers apoptosis, (programmed cell death) in a manner that reinforce the cell defenses towards dangerous infections and cancerous plagues due to which a cell normally commit suicide to prevent the infections progressing to other healthy cells normally. But on contrary Apoptosis help rebuild the capabilities of cell to revive their vital functions and chemical structure which slows down the overall cell degenerating and aging process. Well I bet you all including me surely have been amazed on the McGill’s team findings and their future impacts of aging and irreversible cell loss theories.
